A Lifetime Friend

We went to primary and secondary school together. His Mum taught me to swim. We were coersed to do morris dancing and scottish dancing in costume!  We competed in diving for bricks in the Blue Lagoon. We played in one of the first skiffle groups on the island, Les Paysans. When Wen and I got married in 1966 he quietly gave me £40, a very generous thing to do back then. Crann was a real individual. Not easily impressed by anything, not very interested  in material gain or even personal appearance but a man of real humour and of a wide range of talents. His love for undersea activities may have been the result of having webbed feet. Some of his jokes were terrible but they , like him, will be greatly missed. I am so happy to have known Crann for so long - God bless him.   Rob Young
